Background
Chapter 113 of the Laws of 2008 implements the agreement between the State of New York and United University Professions (UUP). It provides for January 1, 2009, increases in Location Pay to $3,026 and in Mid-Hudson Location Pay to $1,513.
Effective Date
Effective 12/25/08, paychecks dated 1/21/09
Contract Provisions and Eligibility Criteria
Location Pay
The legislation provides for an increase in Location Pay to $3,026 effective 12/25/08 for employees in New York City, and Nassau, Rockland, Suffolk and Westchester counties.
Mid-Hudson Location Pay
The legislation provides for an increase in Mid-Hudson Location Pay to $1,513 effective 12/25/08 for employees in Orange, Dutchess and Putnam counties.
OSC Actions
Location Pay
OSC will automatically increase eligible employees’ Location Pay (LOC) on the Additional Pay page from $1,850 to $3,026 for all rows effective 12/25/08 and later.
Mid-Hudson Location Pay
OSC will manually increase eligible employees’ Mid-Hudson Location Pay (LMH) on the Additional Pay page from $1,000 to $1,513 for all rows effective 12/25/08 and later.
Agency Actions in Pay Period 20
For New Hire, Position Changes and Transfers in Pay Period 20
If the effective date of Location Pay or Mid-Hudson Location Pay is effective on or before 12/25/08, agencies should enter the old amount on the Additional Pay page.
If the effective date of Location Pay or Mid-Hudson Location Pay is effective after 12/25/08, agencies should enter the new amount on the Additional Pay page.
Control-D Reports
The following Control-D Report will be available on January 9, 2009:
NHRP703 Mass Salary Additional Pay Report
This report identifies all employees receiving an automatic increase for Location Pay (LOC) or Location Pay Mid-Hudson (LMH). Fields on this report include EmplID, Employee Record Number, Employee Name, Earn Code, Grade, Salary Plan, Bargaining Unit, Additional Pay Amount and Part Time Percentage.
