Purpose of Review

The purpose of our review was to assess the North Amityville Fire Company’s (Company) progress, as of June 2024, in implementing our recommendations in the audit report released in April 2023. 

Background

The Company provides fire protection services within North Amityville Fire Protection Districts 5 and 6 in the Town of Babylon in Suffolk County. The Company is governed by its adopted bylaws. The elected five-member Board is responsible for managing the Company’s financial activities. 

Results of Review

Based on our limited procedures, it appears that the Company has not implemented sufficient corrective action. Of the nine audit recommendations, four recommendations were fully implemented, and six recommendations were not implemented.
