New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli today announced a tentative schedule for the planned bond sales for the state, New York City and their major public authorities during the third quarter of 2020.
The planned sales of $5.06 billion include $3.48 billion of new money and $1.58 billion of refundings as follows:

State Contract and Payment Actions in May
In May, the Office of the State Comptroller approved 791 contracts for state agencies and public authorities valued at $1.2 billion and approved approximately 20.2 million payments worth nearly $25.9 billion. The Office rejected 93 contracts and related transactions valued at $150 million and more than 9,000 payments valued at more than $21.4 million, primarily for mistakes, insufficient support for charges, and improper payments. DiNapoli: State Tax Revenues Down $767 Million in May
State tax receipts in May were down $766.9 million or 19.7% from the previous year, according to the monthly state cash report released today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
“With an economy still suffocated by a global pandemic, the state’s finances took another serious hit in the month of May,” DiNapoli said. “We are now clearly seeing the recession’s impact on tax receipts. As we continue to slowly re-open the economy, it’s critical that Washington act on our call for more federal aid.”

DiNapoli: Local Sales Tax Collections Drop Over 32 Percent in May
Sales tax revenue for local governments in May fell 32.3 percent compared to the same period last year, according to State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. Sales tax collections for counties and cities in May totaled $918 million, or $437 million less than 2019.
