DiNapoli: Oil Spill Fund Reaches New Agreements With St. Lawrence County

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli today announced an agreement between the New York Environmental Protection and Spill Compensation Fund (Oil Spill Fund) and St. Lawrence County that will lead to the clean-up and redevelopment of contaminated commercial property in the villages of DeKalb and Massena.

The seven properties that are part of the latest agreement are tax-delinquent parcels that are being obtained by the county through foreclosure proceedings. Before they can be sold at public auction and put back on the tax rolls, an environmental remediation must occur.

Comptroller DiNapoli and Attorney General Underwood Announce Sentencing of Queens Pharmacy Owner for Stealing More than $1.5 Million from Medicaid

NEW YORK – Attorney General Barbara D. Underwood and State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced today the sentencing of Arkady Goldin, 40, of Brooklyn, owner of Value Pharmacy Inc. ("Value"), a pharmacy formerly located in Queens before re-locating to its current location in Lynbrook, NY, for defrauding the New York State Medicaid program out of $1.5 million.

State Contract and Payment Actions in June

In June, the Office of the State Comptroller approved 1,520 contracts for state agencies and public authorities valued at $7.9 billion and approved more than 1.7 million payments worth nearly $9.9 billion. The office rejected 141 contracts and related transactions valued at $330 million and nearly 1,600 payments valued at nearly $5.6 million.
