State Comptroller DiNapoli, Steuben County District Attorney Baker and the New York State Police Announce Arrest of Former Village of Addison Official for Theft of More Than $1.1 Million

A longtime clerk-treasurer of the Village of Addison in Steuben County has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $1.1 million in village funds over the course of at least 19 years, New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker, and the New York State Police announced today.

DiNapoli: Local Sales Tax Collections Increase by 3.6% in Third Quarter Over Last Year

Local government sales tax collections in New York state totaled $5.9 billion in the third calendar quarter of 2023 (July - September), an increase of 3.6%, or more than $205 million, compared to the same period last year, according to a report released today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. This marks the second consecutive quarter of collections returning to lower pre-pandemic year-over-year growth rates.

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli today announced the following local government and school audits were issued.

Cattaraugus County – Sexual Harassment Prevention (SHP) Training

SHP training was provided to employees and elected officials. However, of the 150 total individuals auditors tested (125 selected employees and all 25 elected officials), 36 employees and 18 elected officials did not complete the annual training.
