NYS Comptroller DiNapoli Supports Warren & Rosen Legislation to End Secrecy in Workplace Harassment Settlements

NYS Comptroller DiNapoli Files Suit Against Wynn Resorts' Board of Directors

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli today announced that, as Trustee of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, he has filed a legal action against officers and directors of Wynn Resorts Ltd. The derivative action alleges that certain officers and directors were aware that former CEO Stephen Wynn repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances towards employees and pressured employees to perform sex acts, yet failed to investigate or hold him accountable.

Comptroller DiNapoli and A.G. Schneiderman Announce Arrest of Former New York City Council Candidate Albert Alvarez

Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the arrest of former New York City Council candidate Albert Alvarez for allegedly accepting straw donations and stealing thousands of dollars in New York City public matching funds during Alvarez's unsuccessful 2013 run for Council. The felony complaint filed today in New York County Supreme Court charges Alvarez with Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, a class E felony, and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D felony.

DiNapoli: NYC Experiencing Record Job Growth

Job growth in New York City has outpaced the nation and New York state since the end of the recession, according to a report released today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. The city added a total of 702,200 jobs between 2009 and 2017, more than during any other expansion.

"New York City is undergoing the largest and longest expansion since World War II," DiNapoli said. "Employment is at a record level and more jobs are being created in the boroughs outside of Manhattan than ever before."

Comptroller DiNapoli and A.G. Schneiderman Announce Criminal Charges and Civil Lawsuit Against Pharmacy Owner for Allegedly Defrauding Medicaid

Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the arrest and indictment of, as well as a civil asset forfeiture action against, Arkady Goldin, 39, of Brooklyn, and Value Pharmacy, Inc. ("Value"), located at 257 Broadway in Lynbrook, New York, for allegedly defrauding the New York State Medicaid program out of millions of dollars. Goldin, an owner of Value, is charged with Grand Larceny in the First Degree and other crimes for having allegedly paid kickbacks to a hospital employee for the referral of prescriptions for costly cancer medications.

DiNapoli Releases Analysis of Executive Budget

The $168.2 billion State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2018-19 Executive Budget proposes several measures to reduce the financial risks posed by federal funding reductions and an uncertain revenue picture but also weakens checks and balances over the use of public dollars, according to a report released today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
