Comptroller DiNapoli and A.G. Scheneiderman Announce 2 to 6 Year Prison Sentence for Former Councilman Ruben Wills in Public Corruption Scheme

State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman announced the sentencing of former New York City Councilman Ruben Wills (D-Queens) to 2 to 6 years in prison; Wills was also ordered to pay nearly $33,000 in restitution and a $5,000 fine.

DiNapoli: Former Town of Minerva Clerk Pleads Guilty

Jordan Green, the former clerk to the supervisor for the town of Minerva, pleaded guilty to fourth degree grand larceny, official misconduct and tampering with public records, after an investigation and audit found she stole thousands of dollars from the town, State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced today.

NYS Common Retirement Fund Announces First Quarter Results

The New York State Common Retirement Fund's (Fund) overall return in the first quarter of the state fiscal year 2017-2018 was 2.9 percent for the period ending June 30, 2017, with an estimated value of $197.1 billion, according to New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.

"Strong domestic stock market returns continued to buoy our investments through the opening months of the state fiscal year," DiNapoli said. "As a long term investor, the fund's performance is best measured by its success over a period of years if not decades, but we always welcome a strong quarter."

DiNapoli: Report Finds Mixed Job Picture in Upstate NY

Upstate New York lags behind downstate New York and the nation in job growth since the Great Recession, according to a report examining upstate employment trends issued today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. Since June 2009, total employment in upstate New York rose by 0.3 percent compared to 2.2 percent in the downstate region and 1.9 percent nationwide during the same time frame.
