Pre-Retirement Presentation (Webinar)

A NYSLRS representative will provide an interactive 1-2 hour presentation for members who are within 5 years of retirement to learn about:

  • Their NYSLRS pension and how their pension benefit will be calculated;
  • Preparing to retire and using Retirement Online, which is the fastest and most convenient way to access account information and conduct business with NYSLRS;  
  • Applying for retirement and what to expect after submitting their application; and
  • Things to be aware of after they retire, such as returning to work and when they will be eligible for a cost-of-living adjustment.

We encourage your employees to ask questions during and after the presentation.

Note for employers of New York State employees: The Office of Employee Relations administers pre-retirement planning webinars. Contact your agency liaison to learn how your employees can enroll.

Consultations

A NYSLRS representative will speak individually with members who are within 5 years of retirement to provide account-specific benefit information and answer questions.
