Payments upon Separation from State Service

The following types of payments are due to an employee after they have separated from state service. The maximum payments will vary by bargaining units.

Salary Withholding Termination In Two Pay Periods Amount taken up to 5 days

OT accruals Termination In Two pay periods varies
OT accruals Retirement, Layoff, Deceased Immediately upon separation varies
Over 40 Comp Time Termination In two pay periods 240 straight time hours
Over 40 Comp Time Retirement, Layoff, Deceased Immediately upon separation 240 straight time hours
DRP (Deficit Reduction Program) Termination, Retirement, Layoff, Deceased System generated balance due at time of separation if final repayment is in progress. If final payment has not begun, the agency must submit. This can be submitted on separation Unpaid Balance Due to be returned to the employee.

Balance of Contract for Academic Staff Termination, Retirement, Layoff, Deceased Immediately upon separation As required
